The Houses
The purpose of the house system at KCI is to promote school spirit and broaden the students’ friendship groups. Each student is assigned a house/colour, and each house has students from different year groups. To strengthen the school’s community and encourage our students to see themselves as part of a bigger team, our students are awarded house points in academic and extracurricular activities through a common house point system that encourages healthy competition and group loyalty among pupils.
Students at King’s College India are grouped into four different houses. These houses are named after famous Castles in the United Kingdom and each has a colour assigned to it.
House/Castles | Colour |
---|---|
Windsor | Purple |
Sherborne | Yellow |
Pembroke | Green |
Pendragon | Red |
At KCI, every house is monitored by two housemasters who are supported by a group of teachers. The teachers can volunteer themselves for the position of housemaster or be nominated by the teaching staff or SLT. The house has two student representatives, Captain and Vice-captain, who work under the constant supervision of the Housemasters and teachers. Representatives are elected through voting.
At KCI, the House Captain and Vice-Captain organise and conduct house meetings. During these meetings, various in-house events and activities are planned and implemented to unlock the potential of the house members.
