EAL – English as an Additional Language

At King’s College India, our English as an Additional Language (EAL) Programme is designed for students whose first language is not English. Our aim is to equip them with the linguistic skills needed to excel both academically and in everyday interactions. We celebrate multilingualism and encourage students to embrace English as an additional language while maintaining the richness of their native tongues.

Our approach enables students to acquire English naturally through engaging interactions and thought-provoking content within their regular classes. Our EAL team provides tailored support, working in close collaboration with mainstream teachers to ensure a seamless and enriching learning experience. This support may take various forms, including co-teaching, small group sessions, or one-to-one assistance, all designed to strengthen the language skills essential for academic success.

We recognise that mastering a new language is a progressive journey, with each student advancing at their own pace. At the heart of our programme lies the synergy between our EAL specialists and classroom teachers, ensuring that language development is fully integrated into our wider educational framework.
