King’s College India is guided by one motto, which in just a few crucial words, outlines and represents the core values of our school:

“A kinder you, a kinder world”

This motto is embedded in the ethos of our school and serves as a guiding light for this institution towards excellence. It has been with us since the very beginning and has led us ever since in fostering the virtues of faith, hope and love.
We invite each and every individual regardless of race, gender or creed, with the ultimate goal of nurturing self-respect, self-esteem, high moral values, responsible citizenship and commitment to the service of others.
We wish to create a lively and stimulating learning environment that is exciting in a caring and secure environment for the children which, in turn, serves as preparation for the future of our students not only from a work point of view but character building too.
All in all, King’s College India emphasizes values that allow students to enhance their self-esteem and the ability to value each person’s own worth through a happy, caring, enriching and secure environment. This can only be achieved through high quality teaching which is exactly what our school is committed to.

Values

Our school’s mission extends beyond purely academic pursuits. Our ethos and motto serve as a constant reminder to both students and faculty that no matter how many excellent grades one gets what really counts is if you are a kind-hearted and good-natured person. With this in mind, our goal is to create a community built upon the basis of commitment to others, appreciation of human diversity and the spirit of inclusiveness. It is only through a creative and innovative form of teaching, like the one we offer at King’s College India, that students can unleash their full potential and become promising leaders of the future.

Our History

King’s College Taunton was founded in 1880 by the Reverend Nathaniel Woodard, a highly practical and charismatic educational pioneer. His vision was to offer strong academic teaching, relevant to a changing world, coupled with an emphasis on caring for the needs of the child – mind, body and spirit
Taking their legacy forward, King’s College India opened its doors to all students in India in August 2016, seeking to expand upon Woodard’s vision, and create an admixture of the highly revered British curriculum with Indian values. They seek to provide outstanding modern facilities like its Taunton counterpart, giving equal emphasis upon academic, co-curricular as well as extra-curricular activities in a secure and stimulating environment. Along with great educational qualifications, great emphasis is also placed on developing individual kindness, consideration, and courtesy.
Give your child the best advantage in life by selecting King’s College India and play an active role in continuing the 140-year-old legacy of King’s College Taunton in the UK.

Headmaster’s Welcome

There remains little doubt, in the aftermath of the recent and ongoing troubles faced by humanity, that education represents a passport to a better life, greater life-chances, wisdom and a sense of community and servitude. Here at King’s College India, we are only too keenly aware that our children have endured a great deal through the recent pandemic and we must tread carefully in ensuring that the correct steps are taken to protect their futures. In essence, we care.

I am very pleased that you have chosen to consider King’s College India as the place where your child can grow, be nurtured and realize their potential. Alongside the Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE and A-Level programmes, we ensure a very broad curriculum which allows students to naturally express themselves and grow their confidence in a range of areas. A fundamental principal of the Cambridge programme is self-management; we teach and encourage our children, from a very early age, to manage their time, their responsibilities, research, homework, sports training, relationships, presentation, ethos and general life principles.

To enhance and compliment the holistic growth of our children and young adults, we have first-class facilities inside the academic areas as well as in the surrounding environment. Dedicated laboratories and classrooms, a Drama studio, Music rooms and Art studios ensure that our learners have access to a whole raft of developmental opportunities. We also have
a 25m swimming pool and training pool, as well as dedicated changing areas. Our cricket practice areas, pitch, football field, basketball, tennis and multi-function courts also provide every learner with opportunities for growth outside of the classroom.

Boarders feel as though this is a home from home and play an integral part in the development and growth of their second home. Our dormitories are clean and well-appointed. Boarding students have access to teachers in the evenings and throughout the weekends and an additional programme of enhancement is developed for boarding students only, taking
into account the needs of the boarding community. All of this is set within our amazing campus which is designed to create the safest, calmest and inspiring environment possible.

Our teachers are all holders of a degree as a minimum standard and all have experience with the Cambridge curriculum and teaching methodologies. Teaching staff go beyond what is presented in the syllabus document and use methodologies embedded in metacognition, active learning and multiple intelligence theories to ensure a bespoke curriculum is delivered to each and every learner at the school. In order to further embed our motto, A Kinder You, A Kinder World, we actively participate in service activities designed to help grow and develop the immediate communities around us. This develops a sense of place, community, social
awareness and responsibility in our learners. At King’s College India, our learners are given and grow the skills needed for life.

Finally, as members of the King’s College community, our students will not only grow with the skills needed for later life, but will also be a part of the King’s family – a legacy reaching back over 140 years. KCI enjoys strong links with our sister school, King’s College Taunton and we undertake cultural, academic and sporting exchanges on a regular basis – as well as
with other schools in Europe, Asia and Africa.

So, please pop in and enjoy a chat about our wonderful school. Being part of King’s College India is an amazing opportunity for you to not only invest in your child’s future but for your child to realize her or his potential. I look forward to meeting you and your children soon.

Deputy Head Message

Albert Einstein said, “Education is not about learning of facts but training young minds to think.” There is an astronomically immense distinction between cramming up facts and learning them so that they can be applied in productive ways. At King’s College India, we endeavour to work towards holistic development of our students by providing them the implements and experiences that embolden our students to celebrate. The aim is to engender potentiated minds so that students are able to decide what is good for them, differentiate between right and erroneous, cull opportunities that avail build them up and enable them to live in harmony with all ease. As the Deputy Head, I am delectated that the school’s values align with my own personal values, including the consequentiality of trust, reverence, innovation and a sense of community.

Our teachers are carefully selected and undergo constant training to upgrade their knowledge of the subjects they teach, as well as to improve their skills to meet the demands of the relentlessly changing world around them.

Our history of accomplishments in academics, sports, dance, music, public accommodation, verbalize for the quality of students the school has engendered; global citizens yet steadfast in their loyalty to the nation; strong moral and ethical values; advocates of worthy causes and concerned about the family and community.

Education imparted here is not confined to the class room alone but is moving beyond that. As a Chinese proverb very aptly says, “Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand.”
