True education at King’s College India goes beyond the classroom. It involves offering experiences that develop character, widen perspectives, and stoke a desire for global citizenship. Our dedication to developing future leaders was exemplified this November when a group of our talented students travelled to Geneva, Switzerland, for the prestigious Global Model WHO conference.
Exploring the Halls of World Power
The week-long experience was an in-depth exploration of global innovation and diplomacy for our students. They started with an immersive tour of the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN), where they looked at cutting-edge displays of particle and quantum physics.
Walking the same corridors as Nobel laureates, they witnessed firsthand how curiosity and collaboration push the boundaries of human knowledge.
The learning continued at the United Nations Office in Geneva, where our delegates received a guided tour of the historic halls where global decisions are made. From understanding the legacy of the League of Nations to observing where current international policies are debated, students gained invaluable insight into the mechanisms of global governance.
A Star Moment on the Global Stage
The pinnacle of the trip was the Global Model WHO conference at the World Health Organisation headquarters. In the prestigious Executive Board Room – the very space where global health policies are shaped – our student Aaradhya Siwach (SEC4) made Kings’ incredibly proud! Selected as one of only five students worldwide to address the opening plenary, Aaradhya delivered a powerful speech to over 500 delegates and dignitaries, receiving a standing ovation for her compelling insights on global health challenges.
This remarkable achievement demonstrates the confidence and eloquence that King’s education fosters in every student.
Cultural Immersion: Learning Beyond Academics
The trip also included enriching cultural visits designed to broaden students’ worldviews and develop a deeper appreciation for heritage, history, and global connection.
At the breathtaking Château de Chillon, located on the shores of Lake Geneva, students explored medieval architecture, learned about centuries-old European history, and reflected on how culture shapes societies.
Their visit to the Cailler Chocolate Factory in Broc and the charming Bronc Village added a sweet dimension to their learning. As they observed the artistry of Swiss chocolate-making, interacted with artisans, and understood the impact of local industries on community life, students strengthened their observational skills, cultural awareness, and appreciation for global business practices.
These immersive experiences enhanced students’ cognitive, social, and intercultural abilities—broadening their understanding far beyond the limits of traditional academic learning.
More Than a Conference: A Transformation
Beyond the formal sessions, our students connected with over 400 peers from 42 countries, building friendships and professional networks that span the globe. They learned to negotiate, collaborate, and see the world through different cultural lenses – skills that no textbook can thoroughly teach.
The success of this journey was made possible by the dedicated mentorship of Mr. Albert and Ms. Preeti, whose guidance ensured that our students maximised this extraordinary opportunity.
